Coastal Forest Walk with Dan MacRae

The PEI Woodlot Owners Association invites you to join a guided nature walk at the Island Nature Trust’s Perret- Mackinnon property on Saturday, September 13th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Directions will be provided upon registration.
Led by Dan McRae, ecologist and naturalist with the Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project, this walk will explore coastal forests, their vital role in protecting shorelines, and practical ways woodlot owners can support healthy ecosystems.

This event is made possible with funding from the PEI Forested Landscape Priority Place for Species at Risk.

Driving Directions to the Perret–MacKinnon Nature Trust Trail
Trailhead Location: 46°27’46.4″N 62°36’24.3″W (46.4629, -62.6068)
Route 336 (Greenwich Rd), near Allie’s Lane & Cable Head Road, Cable Head East, PE C0A 2A0
The Perret–MacKinnon Nature Trust Trail is protected and managed by Island Nature Trust.

From Charlottetown (55–60 minutes / 61 km)
1. Leave Charlottetown heading east on Route 2 (Trans-Canada Highway) toward Mount Stewart.
2. Continue through Mount Stewart on Route 2.
3. Turn left onto Route 313 (Greenwich Road) toward St. Peters Bay.
4. Stay on Route 313 until you reach Route 336.
5. Drive east on Route 336. The trail entrance is near the intersection of Allie’s Lane and Cable Head Road.

From Montague (40–45 minutes / 45 km)
1. Leave Montague on Route 4 North toward Cardigan.
2. Continue following Route 4 toward St. Peters Bay.
3. Turn onto Route 313 (Greenwich Road).
5. Continue until you meet Route 336, then head east. The trail entrance is near the intersection of Allie’s Lane and Cable Head Road.
