On October 3rd and 4th, Islanders are invited to step into the heart of Western PEI’s forests during the inaugural Up West Forest Fest—a weekend celebration of forest biodiversity!

The Up West Forest Fest offers a series of free, guided forest walks. From exploring the medicinal plants used by the Mi’kmaq people, learning about the amazing biodiversity values of forested wetlands, to exploring the resilient coastal forests, each walk provides a unique opportunity to connect with the Wabanaki-Acadian Forest in western PEI.
Organized by the PEI Forested Landscape Priority Place for Species at Risk team made up of several conservation partners, the festival is designed to highlight the ecological significance of the forests in the western part of the province.
All festival events are free and everyone is welcome to attend!
Please note that some events require pre-registration
